Terms & Conditions

Please read all these Terms and Conditions:

By enrolling or attending classes at LCM Dance Academy, you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions. We ask that you read them carefully to ensure you understand and accept them fully. If you have any questions, please contact us at admin@lcmdanceacademy.co.uk before proceeding.


LCM Dance Academy – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to LCM Dance Academy! By registering your child, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and productive dance experience for all students.


1. Registration & Health Declaration

  • All parents/guardians must complete and sign a registration form before their child’s first class.
     
  • Registration confirms agreement with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Safeguarding Policy.
     
  • Please disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries so we can provide appropriate care.
     
  • In the event of an accident or medical emergency, the Academy may administer first aid or seek medical treatment on behalf of the student. Parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible.
     

2. Fees and Payment

  • Invoices are issued prior to each term and must be paid before your child’s first class.
     
  • Students will not be permitted to participate if payment has not been received.
     
  • A 10% surcharge will apply to any fees unpaid after the first lesson.
     
  • Payment is accepted via BACS/Bank Transfer only. Include your child’s full name or invoice number as a reference.
     
  • No refunds are available for missed classes due to illness, holidays, or any other reason.
     

Payment Instalments

  • If you have chosen and requested to split your invoice into two instalments (one per half-term), each instalment must be paid in full by the due date.
     
  • Failure to pay an instalment on time may result in your child being unable to attend classes until payment is received.
     
  • A 10% surcharge may apply to any instalment paid late.
     

3. Non-Payment and Withdrawals

  • The Principal reserves the right to withdraw students from classes if fees remain unpaid.
     
  • Full-term written notice is required to withdraw; otherwise, full term fees are charged.
     
  • No refunds are provided for mid-term withdrawals. Outstanding fees will be invoiced and must be settled promptly.
     

4. Refund Policy

  • Refunds will not be provided under any circumstances.
     
  • Missed classes cannot be replaced or refunded.
     

5. Attendance and Punctuality

  • Students are expected to arrive at least 5 minutes before class begins.
     
  • Please notify the Academy promptly if your child will be absent due to illness.
     

6. Uniform and Presentation

  • The correct LCM Dance Academy uniform must be purchased and worn by the student no later than their third lesson with the Academy.
     
  • Hair must be neatly groomed to ensure safety and maintain professionalism.
     

7. Classroom Etiquette

  • Parents/guardians may only observe classes during designated watch weeks, which will be announced in advance.
     
  • Parents of children under five years old must remain on the premises for the duration of the class.
     

8. Class Organisation & Progression

  • Student placement and progression are determined by the teacher and Principal based on age and ability.
     
  • Requests to group friends together will not override ability-based placement decisions.
     

9. Timetable and Schedule Changes

  • Class schedules and timetables are subject to change at the start of each term or during the term due to student numbers, teacher availability, student progression, or to accommodate new classes.
     
  • The Academy will notify parents/guardians of any changes as soon as possible.
     
  • If a new class time is unsuitable, alternative classes may be offered at the discretion of the Principal.
     
  • No refunds will be provided if a suitable alternative class is not available.
     

10. Behaviour and Safeguarding Policy

  • Respectful behaviour towards staff, teachers, and fellow students is mandatory.
     
  • Inappropriate behaviour will be addressed with parents/guardians by the Principal.
     
  • Bullying, harassment, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.
     
  • The Academy has a legal duty to report any safeguarding concerns to the relevant authorities.
     

11. Illness Policy

  • Students must not attend class if unwell or absent from school due to illness.
     
  • Students must be symptom-free for 48 hours following sickness or diarrhoea before returning.
     
  • Please inform the Academy immediately of any infectious diseases.
     

12. Cancellations and Force Majeure

  • In the event of class cancellations (e.g., staff illness, severe weather, or other unforeseen circumstances), parents will be notified via email and social media.
     
  • Cancelled classes will be rescheduled where possible.
     
  • The Academy is not liable for disruptions caused by circumstances beyond its control. No refunds will be issued for sessions cancelled due to such events.
     

13. Photography and Recording

  • Teachers may use photos/videos for teaching purposes and may share them with parental consent.
     
  • Parents must obtain Principal permission and consent from all involved before photographing or recording.
     
  • Parents not permitting photography or recordings must notify the Principal in writing.
     

14. Data Protection and Communication

  • Personal data will be stored securely and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
     
  • Photos and videos may be used for teaching, marketing, and social media purposes only with parental consent.
     
  • The Academy communicates with parents via email, phone, and social media as appropriate.
     

15. Termination by Academy

  • The Academy reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrolment in cases of persistent inappropriate behaviour, non-compliance with Academy policies, or safety concerns.
     
  • No refund will be provided in such cases.
     

16. Examinations and Extra Rehearsals

  • Exams are optional and require teacher and Principal approval.
     
  • Regular attendance at classes and all additional coaching/rehearsal sessions is essential for exam candidates.
     
  • Attendance at these sessions is required in order for a student to be entered for the exam.
     
  • Exam dates set by the Royal Academy of Dance are fixed and non-refundable if missed.
     
  • Additional rehearsals will be charged separately; parents will be informed in advance.
     

17. Lost Property

  • All belongings must be clearly labeled.
     
  • LCM Dance Academy is not responsible for lost items. Unclaimed property will be disposed of at term end.
     

18. Collection Policy

  • Notify the Academy in writing if someone other than the registered guardian will collect your child, including their full details.
     
  • Parents/guardians must be at the studio door ready to collect their child immediately after the lesson finishes to ensure back-to-back classes run smoothly.
     

19. Liability Disclaimer

  • LCM Dance Academy, its staff, and volunteers accept no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property except where caused by the Academy’s negligence.
     

20. Updates to Terms & Conditions

  • LCM Dance Academy reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Parents/guardians will be notified of significant changes.
     

By completing registration/enrolment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
